The conversation around ed tech can get very confusing, in part because many of the terms in the list overlap, and some have a number of different names. For example:

"E-Learning" (e.g., video lectures on the internet) is often used as part of a "flipped classroom" strategy (which is a specific type of "hybrid learning") in an effort to provide "individualized learning."

Wikipedia is a useful resource for learning more and finding specific examples of each of the terms. Sometimes they have different names so you might have to poke around a bit. For example, the entry for "flipped classroom" is under "Flip teaching" here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F...

Michael W. Right now I'm searching to find examples of some of the concepts so I can get a clearer picture. Any suggestions?

Re: 24 Ed-Tech Terms You Should Know

Very useful! Already shared it with the tech teachers in our district (Madison School District, Phoenix, AZ). Would love to have the info in a poster. Spent a little time trying to copy and print, no luck. Will try over the holiday break. Thanks for the useful info!

Re: 24 Ed-Tech Terms You Should Know

Thks, it is very useful

Re: 24 Ed-Tech Terms You Should Know

Ya know, I'd add apps too. Lots of folks don't really understand what they are and just how many are already available that can really help learners. http://edudemic.com/2012/12/ip...

And again, great info graphic!

Re: 24 Ed-Tech Terms You Should Know

Heidi and Jamie, thanks very much for your comments. Jamie, QR codes for learning? Interesting. I've seen a few applications of this in my reporting, but all indications are that it hasn't really taken off-yet. I wonder if newer, more expansive and accurate translation applications will help? Augmented Reality is another good one--and one I've reported on in the past. Second Life has attempted to do this for education with some success. Would love to hear more about Transmedia from you!

Re: 24 Ed-Tech Terms You Should Know

"Transmedia" and "Augmented Reality" are new to me Jamie.
